Common Name

Beech milk cap

Cap

Convex, then depressed, slimy when damp, grey, pinkish brown or pale olive, usually with darker depressed spots, to about 10 cm across

Gills

Decurrent, whitish, then cream to pinkish

Stem

Cylindrical, smooth, concolorous with the cap or paler

Flesh

Firm, whitish, exuding a white milk which dries blue grey to greenish grey

Indistinct
